2-in-1 Nail Grinder
Real answers to the questions every pet parent asks before buying.
Most nail tools make you choose — clipper or grinder. This one does both, in a single handheld device you flip between modes.
The clipper side uses a 3.5mm stainless-steel blade to cut overgrown nails down to the right length quickly and cleanly. The grinder side then uses a diamond drum bit to smooth the sharp post-clip edge to a rounded, safe finish.
Used together, you get a professional result at home in a fraction of the time — no switching tools, no buying extras.
Yes — this is the feature that makes the biggest practical difference. The two built-in LEDs shine light directly through the nail. In lighter nails, the blood vessel (the "quick") appears as a pink or red shadow inside. In dark or black nails, look for a darker circular mass at the nail's core — that's your stop point.
The LEDs don't make the quick magically visible in all cases, but they dramatically improve your ability to see it compared to using overhead room lighting alone — especially on dark-coated breeds.
The three grinding port sizes accommodate different nail thicknesses across different breeds and species:
- Small — cats, rabbits, toy/miniature breeds (Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier)
- Medium — small to mid-size dogs (Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, French Bulldog)
- Large — large and giant breeds (Labrador, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever)
If your pet's nail fits through the opening comfortably with a little room, that's the right port. Too tight and the nail won't grind evenly; too loose and you lose precision.
The motor operates at under 45 decibels — quieter than a normal conversation and significantly quieter than a hair dryer or most other pet grinders. The low-vibration design also reduces the physical sensation that many pets find distressing.
For a very anxious pet, we recommend a slow introduction: turn it on near them without touching their paws for a few sessions, offer high-value treats, and let them associate the sound with something positive before you begin grooming.
Yes, the small port size and quiet motor make this well-suited for cats. Cat nails are thinner and more delicate than dog nails, so use the small grinding port and work in short bursts of 2–3 seconds per nail rather than holding it in place continuously.
The safety guard is especially useful with cats, as it helps prevent accidental over-grinding on smaller, more delicate paws. As with dogs, a gradual desensitisation approach works best with cats, who tend to be even more sensitive to new sounds and sensations.
It happens to even experienced groomers. If you nick the quick and see bleeding, stay calm — it looks alarming but is rarely serious. Apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth or cotton ball, then use styptic powder or cornstarch to stop the bleeding. It usually stops within 1–2 minutes.
The safety guard on this tool is specifically designed to reduce the risk of this happening. For extra caution, especially with new pets, trim in small increments and check between each pass using the LED.
The safety lock prevents the tool from accidentally activating when it's stored, dropped, or bumped. To turn it on, you press and hold the button rather than a single tap — the tool won't start from a brief accidental press. This is especially useful in households with children or curious pets who might get into a grooming kit.
A full charge delivers up to 4 hours of runtime — which translates to roughly 20–25 grooming sessions for a single pet household. For most families, that means charging once every 4–6 weeks.
Yes — a USB charging cable is included in the box. The tool charges via standard USB, so it's compatible with any USB-A wall adapter, laptop port, or power bank you already own. No proprietary charger needed.
The universal 110–240V input means it works worldwide — no voltage converter required if you travel internationally.
We recommend charging fully before use rather than using during charging. With up to 4 hours of battery life per charge, you'll rarely find yourself in a situation where you need to charge mid-session. Plan a quick charge the evening before your grooming day and you'll always be ready.
The three port sizes cover a wide range of pets:
- Dogs — all breeds and sizes, from toy breeds to giant breeds
- Cats — all domestic cat breeds
- Rabbits — domestic rabbits with the small port
It is not designed for birds, reptiles, or livestock. If you're unsure about your specific breed, feel free to contact us.
The tool is splash-resistant, which means it can handle light rinsing and cleaning. Do not submerge it in water or run it under a tap while charging. To clean, use the included cleaning brush to remove nail debris from the grinding port after each use, and wipe the exterior with a slightly damp cloth.
